Tuesday, January 12, 2010

So today we cut out the rear motor mount plates out of quarter inch steel. The plates still need to get massaged a bit more but they are almost perfect.

This showed up today from Justin Brown, The front end is perfect besides top tree which we will replace in the near future. The front wheel is a Henry Abe wheel.

With a little spit and elbow grease it will be perfect.

So I finally got back into working on the bike. McGoo and My dad helped out today with starting the rear motor mounts. We didn’t get it completed we are getting there:

While McGoo was out here he drew up a plate for use to put under the seat:

There is still a good chunk of work let but it is getting there.

So today started off with my normal “wake up whenever” routine where I ended up waking up at 10:30 instead of my normal 1-2:30pm crap. When I finally decided to drag myself out of bed my parents told me to get dressed so they could bring me down to Ikea so I could get my gift. I ended up getting a shelving unit so I can be a bit more organized with my record collection:

After getting home we went out to dinner with Mike D, his Dad, Jason, Bill, and McGoo at a local Mexican restaurant in downtown Elsinore. Mike D handed me a Chopper catalog mag from Spring 1973 that ended up having an ad for my frame I have, so that answered my question. It ends up being an AEE frame:

McGoo ran out to the car and came back in with a Biltwell prototype helmet that will come in handy whenever I get to the point of ACTUALLY riding this thing!!

Thanks for the Bday wishes from everyone and hope you folks have a decent Christmas.

D.R.I. put on by far the best show I've ever seen in my life this past Sunday. If you get the chance to see them GO!!

So today I spent about 3 hours outside finishing up all the sanding on the frame. There are still some areas that I need to touch up but other than that I should be starting the rear motor mounts in the next few days.

The few areas that are still cover with paint will get sand blasted whenever I get to that point of the project.
